The exhibition is prefaced by Yiannis Tsarouchis close friend and collaborator, Paminos Georgiadis

Once upon a time, Yiannis Tsarouchis told me how he started to paint.
As a child, there was a closet in the bedroom that had a mirror on one of its sheets. On the opposite wall, a window had a through view the port of Pasalimani, part of which was visible in the mirror. He tried to scetch this for many days. He liked the result and continued to copy the painted ceiling. That's how it started and after that, he enrolled to the School of Fine Arts.

He was stubborn to paint beauty.

He was strict, disciplined, devoted and friendly when he discovered "what" and "who" suits him, as he used to say.

He liked to pose for photographers, but also in front of the mirror from a young age. As much as he liked to choose roles, to impersonate them, to disguise himself, he often painted himself like that - Alexander the Great, a priest, dancer, etc.

When I suggested he baptize my daughter, he accepted and confessed to me that for the first time he would play the role of the godfather. Bought a suit, tie and new shoes. When I asked him, why all this? He answered me that this is the role and he will be the protagonist.
 

The meeting with him determined my professional and personal path.
